Chennai celebration of 375 years , city's history and pride

Francis Day and Andrew Cogan were known as the founders of Madras (Chennai).  Nayaka of Wandiwash, giving over to the East India Company a three-mile long strip of land, a fishing village called Madraspatnam,  On 22 August 1639, They began construction of the Fort St George ,on 23 April 1640 East Indian traders start settling in and around the fort , more than19,000 persons occupy's , they start to expanded Fort St. George, which including its citadel also included a larger outside area surrounded by an additional wall. This area became the Fort St. George settlement. As stipulated by the Treaty signed with the Nayak, the British and other Christian Europeans were not

allowed to decorate the outside of their buildings in any other color but white. As a result, over time, the area came to be known as 'White Town' and there were another town near  were called as 'Black Town' place occupied by local and native craft men and weavers, later this both parts were become as  st.george town
in 1,702 mogul invades the madras , in 1,741 Marathis invades followed by French's in  1,746

then it get back to there britisher hands.   1,758 itself French captured, but soon it's came back to Britisher until 1947 they hold the madras in their control until   the independence of India in 1,968 madras presidency name changed as Tamil nadu through the state legislative and also madras changed into Chennai , in 1997 at the time just being with population of 30 thousand people ,stunningly now it cross nearly 60 lakhs ,still chennai spreading it's boarders

Chennai cross the mail stone of 375 year old , from the day it founds till today it looks young and grow in ultimate way, this city holding  pride of  having itself  very first lighthouse , primer schools , college in India, first fine art institute's in Asia where also in its belt , city runs with a past and present prides we also join together and run along with this wonderful city toward future
