this challenge went viral on social media after a US baseball player and ALS patient, Pete Frates, floated the idea of the challenge in a video on a social networking site.

According to the ALS website, it has so far received nearly $23 million peoples  trough the social networks

What is that ALS ?

ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. ALS eventually leads  patients to  totally paralyzed even death . this disease affect 2 people in every 1 lakh of the global population
